Privacy Policy

The short version
Personal Gym has no accounts, no sign-up and no servers of ours. We do not collect, receive or sell your information — there is nowhere for it to go. Everything you record lives in the app's own storage on your device and, if you leave iCloud sync on, in your personal iCloud account. Access to Apple Health is entirely optional and never happens before you grant permission.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to Personal Gym on iPhone and to everything that ships with it: the Apple Watch app, the Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, the Live Activity for the rest timer, and the share extension used to import a training plan. They all read and write the same local data store.
No account, no analytics, no tracking
There is no sign-up, no login and no profile hosted by us. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking technology and no third-party software development kits — it is built with no external dependencies at all. It does not create an advertising identifier, does not build a profile about you, and is not linked to data held by other companies. The app's privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types.
Data you create in the app
What you enter stays in the app's own storage on your device: your workout plans and exercises, your completed sessions with sets, repetitions, loads and rest periods, your workout history and the progress figures calculated from it, any image you choose for an exercise, an optional profile (name, weight, height, date of birth, biological sex, activity level) and your app preferences. Deleting an item in the app removes it from that storage, and deleting the app removes all of it from the device.
iCloud sync
So that your iPhone, Apple Watch and widgets show the same training data, the app can keep its database in the private area of your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit. This is on by default and can be switched off under Profile → iCloud; the change takes effect the next time the app starts. That data sits in your personal iCloud account, under your Apple Account: we have no access to it, we receive no copy of it, and it is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and iCloud terms. With iCloud sync off — or if iCloud is unavailable on your device — the app stores everything locally and keeps working.
Apple Health
Connecting to Apple Health is optional. The app works fully without it and reads or writes nothing until you grant permission in the system dialog.
With your permission, the app reads: workouts, heart rate, active energy burned, basal (resting) energy burned, body weight, height and dietary energy consumed. It uses them to enrich your workout history, show your energy and progress overview, and help fill in your profile.
With your permission, the app writes: your completed workouts, together with the active energy burned and the heart-rate figures recorded during the session. Deleting a workout in Personal Gym also removes the workout it created in Apple Health.
Health data is processed on your device and shown inside the app. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can review or revoke each permission at any time in the Health app, under Sharing → Apps.
Importing a training plan
You can send text or a link to Personal Gym through the iOS share sheet. If you share a link, the app requests that page directly from the site that hosts it, the way a browser would; that site sees the request as it would see any other visit and may keep its own logs. The request happens only when you ask for an import, the page is processed on your device, and nothing is sent to us. Text you share is processed entirely on your device.
On-device intelligence
Turning an imported plan into workouts, and the short insights shown next to your progress figures, use Apple's on-device foundation models where the device supports them. That processing stays on your device: the text is not sent to us and no cloud service of ours is involved. Where the feature is unavailable, the app falls back to its own parsing or simply does not show the insight.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules them locally to tell you that a rest period is over. They are created and delivered by your own device. We operate no push server and send you nothing.
Your control over your data
Your training data is yours. You can edit or delete any of it inside the app, revoke Apple Health access in the Health app, switch iCloud sync off in the app, manage the app's iCloud storage in Settings → your name → iCloud, and delete the app to remove its local data from the device. Because we never receive your data, there is no copy of it for us to disclose, correct or delete — and none for us to lose. For the same reason we cannot recover data you have deleted, so keep your backup in mind before removing anything.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be described here rather than applied silently.
